Orlando, FL – Southwest Airlines has publicly apologized to two blind women as they were left behind on a flight from New Orleans to Orlando on Sunday. The women were rebooked on a dedicated flight and offered $100 voucher as compensation for the ordeal. The women in question are reportedly unhappy with this due to the fact the dedicated flight was not communicated to them in advance.
Despite their blindness improving their sense of hearing, and being at the one place that requires you to listen, the women failed to hear their flight being called over the New Orleans Airport communication system.
This gave rise to abhorrent internet trolls who argued that this is another example of women not listening to anything. “I mean they don’t have anything visually distracting them, can’t imagine there would be much else for them to do other than listen…” said one internet troll.
In response, social commentator Sarah Evans was quick to point out the hypocrisy on, posting on her x “What are we even talking about here? It’s men who don’t listen to any fuckin’ thing we say?!?”
