Race Relations Hit All-Time High as Black Man Spotted in Fluorescent Lycra

Thuringowa, USA – In stark contrast to the effortless cool typically associated with Black men in America, a local African-Thuringowan man has been spotted wearing a fluorescent Lycra cycling ensemble in public. The man in question was reportedly having breakfast with two dorky-looking white men and one equally dorky-looking Asian man. The sighting has been widely interpreted as supporting recent claims by the Trump administration that race relations in the U.S. are at their best levels on record.

In certain parts of the country, Black cyclists are commonplace. In others—not so much. Until now, however, the idea of a cool Black man wearing an outfit traditionally reserved for the biggest losers in the white community was virtually unheard of. Such outfits had remained almost entirely exclusive to white, and occasionally Asian, cycling groups.

Social commentators were quick to highlight the significance of this development.

“Our societal integration in America is now moving at an astonishing rate! I don’t think anyone saw this coming!” said Rev. Langston Pierce. “It really shows that different racial groups in America are mixing more often and across more boundaries than we ever thought possible. We still have a way to go, but what a promising development.”

Not everyone was convinced. One local resident countered:

“I’ve seen multiple Black men wearing tights on bicycles before. What are we even talking about?”

Rev. Pierce quickly clarified:

“We’re talking about a straight Black man…”

Experts suggest this could trigger a positive feedback loop: people who might otherwise hold prejudices against Black men—perhaps even crossing the street to avoid them—may no longer feel the need. After all, as one expert put it, “No one looks dangerous dressed like that. It’s literally impossible.”

In a more troubling twist, the day reportedly ended with police laying charges for possession of a stolen bicycle.
